ROXANNE+SCOTT

destination

.

I'm quite certain that when Father Francisco de

Lasuén founded the San Miguel Mission in 1797 the local wine had something to do with it.  Perhaps, it was a graceful coincidence.  But, after a devastating fire in 1806, and the damage of the San Simeon earthquake in 2003, this treasured mission has been through enough.  It would make the dream of someday being surrounded by the spirit of artisan winemaking an excellent idea.

The appearance of the Mission today is much the same as when it was founded. The sanctuary has never been repainted. The oil paintings and vivid colors you see are original.  They were created and painted by Indian artisans under the direction of Esteban Munras.  A destination to celebrate for sure.

Especially a marriage of one of the funnest couples I have ever shared this experience with.

Planning a

wedding from Chicago would likely be overwhelming for anyone, but Roxanne and Scott knew what they wanted - genuine joy and family with a historical California backdrop.  A combination that makes our rural booming wine country unique.  Old school is still abundant, and that's good.  With weddings in Paso Robles, there is never a chance of not having a great time...or great wine to make history with.

Cheers!

Hearst Castle Holiday Feast

luxury. The Silver Anniversary of the Friends of Hearst Castle was a holiday celebration reflective of twenty-five enchanted years of splendor on display!

The guests were chauffeured in limousines to the courtyard of the castle for an hour of delights beneath the stars.  A towering 50 foot tall tent encapsulated the east entrance to the Morning Room, featuring the majestic balcony of the Doge’s Suite and its detailed, four-leaf arches.  Guests adorned in all their finery were greeted with a vision of a crystallized splendor evoking a snowy winter wonderland.

Next they were invited into the castle's Refectory for the extravagant, seven-course dinner.  The Imperial styling of Russian royalty was the inspiration for the palette of the annual Holiday Feast.  Deep hues of ruby and garnet infused the palette along with accents of rich gold reflecting the baronial splendor of aristocratic opulence.  Each table was appointed with deep crimson velvet linens with intricate gold detail and spun gold napkins.  The guests were seated in burnished gold mahogany Versailles chairs with gold cushions creating a setting worthy of royalty.

SUMMER JOY + DEREK

time.  Tucked amongst the towering pine trees in Cambria is the historical Santa Rosa Chapel. It takes you right back to the turn of the century in a coastal village...a romantic woodland setting fed by the ethereal fog of the North coast.  The bride, Summer Joy, grew up in Cambria and was in love with the beauty that surrounded her memories.  The Fog's End barn, just on the edge of the village was made warm and inviting for the reception with candlelight and organic details, embracing a nostalgic glimpse of the past.

With the crispness of fall in the air, another season is upon us.  Timeworn traditions that we cherish are fresh once again.  Cheers!

ADORNMENTS featured in MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS Fall 2011 Fashion issue!!!!

imagine.  Daily, for many years, I have imagined having one of our carefully-tended weddings published in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine. We finely-tune every wedding with the hope that the bride and groom will find that their day was exactly as they imagined it to be.  That the celebrated Fall Fashion Issue found Lawren + Jesse's wedding day worthy to showcase reminds us how much the details really matter!

To see more moments from this wedding go to the Martha Stewart Weddings.

For Lawren and Jesse's Paso Robles farm wedding they dreamed in technicolor; bright with fantasy.  With Lawren's imagination and Jesse's dedication they created a day of playful indulgence.  A sweet, sunny May day made just for them, or so it seemed.  There was a dessert "kitchen" abundant with homestyle pies, a meandering aisle of daisy blooms, a very busy tree swing and even a very pregnant mini horse.  A charming pastoral wedding tailored to find itself in the inked pages of Martha Stewart Weddings Fall 2011 issue.  Hooray!

ATHENA + JONNY

beauty.  What a fun couple in a fantasy setting.  Athena and Jonny, with their hip personal style, planned a wedding where they were truly surrounded by all that made them happy.  They were married beneath a giant California oak tree at Hammersky Vineyards in Templeton.  It is the magic of this welcoming place that makes you want to celebrate love...10 minutes of winding Vineyard Drive, then turn a sharp corner and there is Hammersky Vineyards.  Your eyes fill with glorious beauty.  The unforgettable endless kind from which happiness grows.
