Emma Hearst + John Barker

.  With the magnificence of one of California's greatest treasures

Hearst Castle

and Ranch as the backdrop for Emma + John's spring wedding, the overwhelming sense of history was apparent throughout the festivities.  And the grandeur that comes with this locale was made beautifully visible in the hospitality and grace of the Hearst family.  Yet, the real and approachable style of Emma and John made this production one of pure pleasure.

The three-day wedding extravaganza began with a 1920's-inspired Rehearsal Dinner at the Hearst Castle Refectory on Thursday, followed by a Fiesta Welcome Dinner on Friday at the Hearst wine warehouse nestled in San Simeon Cove.

After the breathtaking ceremony at the ranch's hilltop featuring endless vistas of the property and Castle, the guests gathered for cocktails on the Senator's House sunswept lawn.  The wedding celebration was held at the Hearst Ranch Dairy Barn, crowning the week with the ideal carefree vibe in this most authentic California Central Coast setting.

It was the kind of day where being barefoot is sublime and ones greatest desire is just to ENJOY.

Tiber Canyon Ranch

nestled in the coastal Edna Valley hills was the ideal backdrop for such simple extravagance.  It's a venue surrounded by acres of lovingly nurtured Italian olive, oak and manzanita groves.  What fun for Cassie and Bryan and their guests to frolic unfettered in this dreamy setting...for this one perfect summer day.

pastoral pleasure.

Surrounded by the boundless hills of Los Alamos, Jamie-Rae + Tim's wedding was the ideal "at-home" setting for a day filled with all the glory of spring.  Even with the approaching raindrops -- the fabulous energy of these two, their families and friends made the entire day warm and welcoming for all in attendance.

As a chef, J.R. requested the use of herbs and a personal style incorporated in the designs.  Spring vines and branches, precious tendrils, herbs and local-grown flora were the ingredients for an evening of charm and indulgence.

botanical bliss.

A more enchanting garden doesn't exist on the central coast than that of

The Dana Powers House

in Nipomo…even more greatly enhanced by Lauren's natural beauty.  She envisioned bringing all the simple splendor of organic design into the floral decor for their spring wedding.  Such passion and appreciation for the decadence of love prevailed in each vine, stem and branch.

rustic sparkle.

Greengate Ranch, a new equestrian venue, is nestled against the rolling hills of Edna Valley.  It brings an exciting balance of elements - the delicate with the rugged, and refinement with the work-worn.  As our muse, we drew from styles that blend upscale western and timeless romance to create and old-world glamour ideal.  With its natural exuberance,

Greengate Ranch

is an especially inspiring setting for this florist's dream!

Jacqueline + Matt

Poised on the endless Pacific coastline,

Avila Beach Resort

is warm and familiar.  Taking inspiration from the little town that surrounds it, Jacqueline and Matt wished to create a comfortable and inviting mood.  Their vision was tailored to perfection by the master-of-detail,

Mark Padgett Wedding Design

.  Evocative of both seaside and garden, the elements of driftwood accompanied the finest florals of the season.  To create the soft light within the tent we adorned each window with sheer coverings that caught the occasional coastal breeze.  Since they were already in paradise, their every whim and wish was indulged.

La Tavola

I'm quite certain that when Father Francisco de

Lasuén founded the San Miguel Mission in 1797 the local wine had something to do with it.  Perhaps, it was a graceful coincidence.  But, after a devastating fire in 1806, and the damage of the San Simeon earthquake in 2003, this treasured mission has been through enough.  It would make the dream of someday being surrounded by the spirit of artisan winemaking an excellent idea.

The appearance of the Mission today is much the same as when it was founded. The sanctuary has never been repainted. The oil paintings and vivid colors you see are original.  They were created and painted by Indian artisans under the direction of Esteban Munras.  A destination to celebrate for sure.

Especially a marriage of one of the funnest couples I have ever shared this experience with.

Planning a

wedding from Chicago would likely be overwhelming for anyone, but Roxanne and Scott knew what they wanted - genuine joy and family with a historical California backdrop.  A combination that makes our rural booming wine country unique.  Old school is still abundant, and that's good.  With weddings in Paso Robles, there is never a chance of not having a great time...or great wine to make history with.
